Most varieties of fruit kheer are produced in two places, Pakistan and India. Where they originate may seem insignificant when discussing the drink, but fruit-sweetened drinks have their roots in both of these countries. For example, apple is one of the most common varieties of fruit grown in Pakistan. The trees often grow in large plums, pears, and apples. In addition, they also grow bananas, mangoes, and other fruits that have the same sweet, tart flavor of apple.
Because apples are so plentiful, the trees are frequently “ripe,” which means that they are still green and sweet from the natural juices that form when the tree is young. This natural juice is what gives the fruit its distinctive flavor. Once this juice has been harvested, the apples are frozen and sent to a company that offers the best quality products. The process of preserving them in this way makes them even sweeter and juicier than they would otherwise be. That means that one cup of what is often described as “fruits” can contain a different amount of sugar than you would find in a traditional drink of this type.
In addition, when you think of what is fruit kheer, you probably think of it as a snack. After all, what is a fruit salad without chips? However, this is not the only way that this type of drink is consumed. As a sweetener, it can be used as a tea, a sport drink, or as a part of a dessert.
Perhaps the question at hand is what is fruit kheer served in? The best place to find this type of drink is at a restaurant that specializes in dessert. If there is one located nearby, it will be easy to find what you’re looking for. Most restaurants use real fruit in their recipes, although the more “traditional” versions tend to use frozen fruit juices or fruit concentrates instead. The advantage of using the concentrated fruit syrup is that it tends to keep the sweetness much longer than the juice.
